More hometown tourism

Who needs an icee?
Janet (Gypsytravels) and her boyfriend Fernando came up to Boston for the weekend. It was great to finally meet you girl!

We spent a hot 'n humid afternoon around the North End and the waterfront. Here's another part of town where I haven't spent a lot of time recently and it was so much fun to show them around and explore it again.

Even if it was hotter than a rainforest!
Work outings can be fun. It's true!

Isn't this refreshing looking?

I organized an outing for my department at work. I thought it would be wonderful to go on a lunch cruise. Boston's got a great harbor so why not enjoy it?

Here I am with some of my co-workers enjoying a water fountain on the newly redesigned Atlantic Avenue.

Be a tourist in your hometown!

Due to various reasons (Poverty, mainly!) I have no big travel plans coming up. So I'm going to try to get out and get reaquainted with my adopted hometown.

Boston's changing, seemingly overnight. The waterfront area is no where close to what it was when I moved here over 20 years ago. And I'm happy to report that every change is for the better.

So until the vacation budget is back on track, I'm going to enjoy Boston!
Good friends; good times

VT Quickie

Scott (Shoman) came to town for the holidays, so we had a little VT Meet at The Border Cafe. Also in attendance were Tony (OnTheRoadGoombah), Emilie (EmilieNoel), Lauren (SullyBiz) and moi!

Last major trips...

In March '07 I went to Western Germany with my best friend which included a weekend in the Netherlands and a VT meet in Cologne where we met Win (rhineroll), Sabs (sabsi), Roy (Imaniac), Thomas (Seppoman) and Bene.

It was great fun with a lot of laughs and were all impressed by everyone's knowledge of the 50 states....

Here's my Cologne page.
It was great to meet everybody!
Beautiful Leiden

One place I could visit over and over again

Spent a week in Leiden in Sept '06 - with a day trip to Amsterdam - for a wedding. The week was filled with fun, festivities, laughs and sunshine and lots of it!

How to make friends

I found VT as a result of researching my first solo trip, to Amsterdam. That's why I'm keeping this picture on my homepage. That plus the fact that it makes me laugh.

I was taking a canal tour and as one does when one travels alone, I asked someone to take my picture. He was sitting across from me and my intent was that he take the picture from where he was. But noooo. He stood up, he moved back, he moved up, he aimed up he aimed down. He probably thought I wanted his family to be in the picture with me. Maybe he thought the family wanted to be in my picture. The result is what you see here. It looks as if I farted and everybody knew....

Oh Jeeeze....!

Hello Joann, I'm enjoying the summer. I did a wee bit of traveling to visit family in Michigan. Camping on the Cape is next on the list. Hope you are having your share of fun! Best, Heidi
