Tourist Trap: Write your business down
  • Tip Rating:
  • if you agree with someone to do something, write it down and make that person sign the deal. after if that person changes the agreement you can go to the police and show the paper. ususaly people change the deals and you say "hey i didnt say that" and they say,no no, you said, NOW WE GO TO THE POLICE, and because they know you're afraid of the police they know you'll try to solve the problems.

At Least Do This: dont stress and agree on calling the police.
Alternative: dont be afraid of the police, if they say, lets go to the police, you say" Yes yes lets go to the police and yo'ull see! with this you already earned a few points of your discussion.

    Tourist Trap: Exchange money
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • NKT and NDB are the best places to exchange money. Anywhere else you want to exchnge some money people will rob you and you'll loose money on the exchnaging process. In NKT try to exchnage money on the big market.

At Least Do This: Always exchnage money on the black market of course.

    Bir Moghrein

    Tourist Trap: Don't bring dollars
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • If you enchnage dollars, you will loose lots of money on the process. Euros is what you need here. People dont trust dollars as they say its easier to fake and also because its lower than the euro.

People will try to say, no no we dont enchange dollars and you say please please ok ok, so they will make you maybe 230UM up to 280UM for the dollar

Since 2005 exists a paved road from Nouadhibou to Nouakchott. the train connects Nouadhibou-Choum-Zouerate In 2007 there were also coaches for public transport from Nouadhibou to Nouakchott and back

the only thing I associate Mauritania is those big colorful beads made of glass, with small flowers in all the colors. They were quite expensive , I remember , as I never got one...
