Gueltat Zemmour

Gueltat Zemmour is a military complex that is used to give support to all the morocan trops existing in the region. Its from Gueltat Zemmour that all the satelite system is held for communications in the region. This is off limits areas for tourist. The only way to get here is if you're coming from Mauritania passing the no mans land full with land mines and bandits until you get to the 2500km protection wall. in this wall you are arrested by moroccan army which take your passports and you'll have to wait until the moroccan internal services give you permission to go on and enter morocco. then you need army protection again to Laayoune for the passport stamp at the city airport.

The barrier was gradually built from 1983 until present days.
