Basse Santa Su is Gambia last or first town if you're coming from South Senegal. Its a town which is particulary animated and full of action due to its closeness to Senegal. Only 20km away from Velingara. This was my first contact entering Gambia. April 2004

| | Bush fires There is a season to burn bushes in Gambia. That was exactly the season I traveled there. April. People burn bushes for many reason and 80% of the bush areas in the countryside actually burn from this practice. |
| | The border This is the route of the border of Gambia comiing south from Senegal region of Casamance. The last town in Senegal is Velingara and the first stop in Gambia will be the border point of Sabi. After the first city inside Gambia is Basse Santa Su. |
