I could get used to this!

by belgianchocolate - last update: Nov 5, 2004

I had some titles in mind for this page...
The cleanest weak in my life !
Everyday of our stay we visited one
of those bath houses that gives Budapest
such a luxurious reputation.
The sponge!
Budapest seems to be the city that has
absorbed always the best in the world.
The best in culture , culinary , architecture...
like a sponge.
How to get succesfully fatter in one week.
I wasn't the most skinny person when
I arrived , but staying there for a week
for certain didn't help. I feel like
I have done nothing but eating.
Afraid to miss out this or that.
And food there has calories in really
high doses. Yep , one pants who did
fit well in the beginning of the week...

I could get used to this!
Is a sort of resume of all those titles.
I could live in this city.
It has a zoo , for starters. It has
a lot of great restaurants and those
beautiful coffee houses.
I'm a nostalgic person , who loves
great architecture.
At some places it has that early
20th century atmosphere in decay
touch , still there....like piano music
in an old outdated restaurant on an
ald outdated piano , by somebody
really trying hard...
I also love theater , classical music.
Yes , this is a city where I could live.
It lives and seems to be
reinventing itself again.

Thanks for the helpful review! How dressed-up do people get when they attend the opera? Are tuxedos or suits necessary for men, or would nice slacks with a blazer and tie be appropriate? Thank you!

The baths and cafes sounds to be wonderful! I will visit Budapest for a few days later this year and I'm really looking forward to that.

I wish I had read your Budapest tips before I went!! They are excellent - still, it was fun reading them after the event too - btw, I love all your 'food' pics - lol ;-))
