"Whatever?" Brugge by belgianchocolate

I never liked Brugge.
There is something about it...
Could it be the tourist menu's ,
loads of tourists doing tourist things?
Or the strange sort of dutch they speak here?

Anyway , Frederik chose Brugge for
his birthday. How could I refuse?
And it has some really nice museums.

Come along.

very informative page. lot of historical sites you have covered. EU did a fine job restricting over-fishing. i like it sorry. good shopping tips. my son would not come out of those chocolate shops.

I always wanted to see Brugge and did so about one month ago. I liked it a lot, but hated all those tourists (but I was one of them!). Nice page anyway, thanx for sharing.

Tho you say this isn't one of your favorite places, you've done one of the best presentations I've seen on this beautiful city. I still want to go. Someday.

Excellent page from someone that doesn't like Brugge. The opening pic is fantastic, the creamy buttery chocolate looks very tempting. (Heading to my chocolate drawer to check if I can find something ;)

Is Brugge the same as Bruges? If so, it is the setting for Erich Wolfgang Korngold's opera "Die tote Stadt" (The dead city) -- a fine opera that unfortunately is seldom performed. I saw it in Altenburg a couple years ago.
