Polder villages in a weird context.

Antwerp is much bigger then we like to think.
On the outskirts of the territoy ,
embraced by the harbour and
located near the border of The Netherlands ,
there are tribes , savages and peasant
leading a simple live and still practising
barbarian customs.

This page is about these villages ,
which get way to little attention.

If you like folklore , I think your going to like this page.

***note from the author (me): I know that there are also civilized people living here , I know at least one and she is a VT-member.
I also know some other woman from here , savages , and she got a moustache.
Please keep in mind that the savages , peasants and other persons mentioned on the page might not be representative for the whole population.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:folklore
  • Cons:limited public transport , not that much to see
  • In a nutshell:a nice day out , for those who honor the small things.

Your local customs tips are fascinating. I love reading about these out-of-the-way places.

As an American, I want to apologise for the quality of the food at McDonald's. It is disgusting and is in no way representative of American cuisine. Cook up those "cheese things" and see what I mean.

At first, i didn't understand why a zoo and animal lover would see that.. then, I saw it is a dead goose.. OK.. informative page.

The arrival of those herons must have been quite a sight. Quite a mix of old and new industry. Gosh that is quite a tradition, not sure I'd be hanging around either but it looks a colourful event. Good info.

Aha, another page of Stabroek and surroundings. It's even better than mine :-) Well done. I like the pics of the harbour (I saw at least one of my work) and, although I'm against it, good pics of the ganzenrijden.
