"Palanka raya...." Palangkaraya by belgianchocolate

Palangkaraya Travel Guide: 12 reviews and 20 photos

We arrived in the evening.... and after banjarmasin it seemed much more an european city. The people aren't as extravert as in banjarmasin. It felt like a cold shower. But the next day the city opened up...
Not as pituresque as banjarmasin but also a nice city.

This is old dayak territory. Different people ... more introvert. And you have to let a copy of your pasport at every hotel and so one.

dude... you went strolling on those traditional market streets! very brave! with the smell and everything. but that's every indonesian housewife's favorite place to do groceries shopping.. smelly, dirty, wet yet really cheap and complete :P

We call those little apples "Crab Apples" They can be so sour they are bitter. Some good ones are sweet-sour, and some people pickle them; and they are yummy :o) Interesting page ~ Helen

In Brazil we call those "apples" Jambo... They are very good if they are purple... the darker, the better! =) We don't need salt, or sugar, or whatever... =P

Very interesting observations. Sometimes it's fun to BE a tourist attraction. Greetings from Billie's Hostel in Fairbanks, Alaska.
