A wedding in Lexington turned out to be a great getaway. Lots of fun and many new people- a fantastic time was had by all. I want to say congratulations to Claire and Alan. You guys are so lucky!

Oh yeah - GO DIAMONDBACKS!!!

We arrived in Lexington on the Fourth of July- Friday night- we're going out- time to party! And that's what we did. We started with De Sha's, Redman's, Cheapside, two other bars to find cigarettes, The Blue Martini, then The Blue Moon. If you are a smoker visiting Lexington, don't go to downtown Lexington with out plenty of smokes to get you through the night. The reason for our bar hopping was our desperate search for Marlboro Lights- I think any kind would have done the trick by this point. De Sha's sent us to Cheapside whose machine was broken (I think) who told us to go to Redman's who didn't sell them to begin with so they sent us across the street, they were out but across the other street we hit gold. To find cigarettes in Lexington, find De Sha's right down the street is Redman's cross the street and turn right and the first bar on your right has them!!!!! After my fit went away I agreed to go to The Blue Martini. Only drinking beer at this point and paying tops $3 for a beer, we order three cosmopolitan's and $25 later we were drinking the WORST cosmos I've ever had. We left finally hailing a taxi and we were off to the BLUE MOON. Fun place, dancing, nice bartenders, good crowd. It was a very fun night

Finally back to the hotel. I just want to mention that the Fairfield Inn in Beaumont Center has the most comfortable pillows EVER. And the biggest liquor store I have ever been to right next door. Which leads me to my next thank you, thank you, thank you Fairfield Inn for being so patient with all of Claire and Alan's old high school friends. I think everyone had a fantastic time.

The hotel that we stayed at was the most convieniently located hotel for the wedding and reception and for all of us partiers. Waffle House next door, also El Chico, and Max and Erma's which was a new one to me-if you order a drink - DO NOT get a Pina Coloda- I have NO IDEA what they put in it there but it wasn't rum- or pineapple juice- or coconut milk. hmmmmmm
