Port Dickson is well known by tourists because it's close to KL and is the seaside resort for the State of Negeri Sembilan.
There are many 1 and 5 star hotels here and it's a pleasant place to spend a day or two, lazing around and experiencing the Malaysian seaside, west coast style.

Sumatra is only about 50 kilometres east across the Straits of Malacca, so there are no waves and there's a huge tidal variance of some 25 metres or more.

Thousands of "KLites" come here on weekends because it's the closest beach to KL.
