Whistler Lodge: It's a bed! UBC - Whistler Lodge Review

This place is great because it is the cheapest acomodation in Whistler. Alot of students stay here espeically from UBC because they own it. The beds are dorm room style and are either bunk or haida bed style.

The lodge itself is cool they have a TV room upstairs and a large games room downstairs with wood burning fireplace.

Great atmosphere because you can mingle with lots of cool people from all over the world but don't fight over what you watch on TV (there's only one!)

It is a 700 meter walk to the slopes of the Creekside gondola, make reservations.

Prices are cheaper in the summer and if you are a UBC student or hostelling international member.

Unique Qualities: The best feature is a big kitchen with lots of storage space and a large cooking area so you can prepare your own food saving you the expense of dining out in Whistler.

Directions: From Hwy 99 turn right at Nordic Drive, the road curves right to a 3-way stop. Turn left. The Lodge is half a kilometre up on Nordic Drive on the left hand side, at the corner of Nordic Drive and Whistler Road

Likely one of the cheapest places as far as hotel room prices go in Whistler. I paid about $200 CAD (incl taxes etc.) for a double room. It's close to restaurants like Earl's and the Keg and walking distance to the main lift area...but it is a bit of a hike, so it's likely best to drive if you can especially if you aren't renting and have to lug all your stuff with you!

Unique Qualities: Since no hotel rooms in Whistler are crappy it was very nice, gas fire place, comfy bed, mini kitchen, nice little dining table. Parking is offered for a small fee (less than $10/day).
