The West Coast is the Best Coast!

Mmmm plum blossoms
Ah yes, Vancouver, Lotus Land, Vancity, the 604, sea to sky country , one the most beautiful cities in the World and home to your truly! I am somewhat biased, if not ignorant, in making this statement since I have not visited every city in the World but nonetheless Vancouver is pretty easy on the eyes. Anyplace where both sandy beaches and snow tipped mountain peaks can be viewed in unison is definately a special place.

Not to be confused with Vancouver, Washington. Vancouver, British Columbia is the largest city in western Canada and home to no less than 2 million of Canada's friendliest and most easy going citizens. From volleyball at Kits beach to the slopes of Cypress Mountain and from cultural Commercial Drive to rambunctious Robson Street the city has alot to offer!

Think before you flick

Thankfully we have received some of our trademark rains across the province in recent days and what was once a very tense situation for many residents in British Columbia seems to be subsiding. Sadly thousands upon thousands of acres of forest were destroyed and a lot of people still aren't out of the woods, so to speak, yet. So this picture will remain as a reminder to be careful when dealing with Man's oldest foe.

Come one, come all

I have spent 17 years of my life in Vancouver and I am still finding new things to do. For both longtime outdoor enthusiasts or those new to exploring the wilderness (like myself) Vancouver has much to offer. Just minutes away, the North Shore mountains spring up and offer a cornucopia of trails some short and easy others long and grueling. If water sports tickle your fancy, Vancouver's costal locale is ideal for Kayakers, Windsurfers, Kite Boarders, Skim boarders and Sailors alike. Not the active type? Then sit back and enjoy the scenery on one of Vancouver's lovely beaches. Enjoy!
