Whirlwind Tour

When I visited Dublin we flew from Manchester to Dublin on Ryan Air for the bargain basement price of 5 pounds (10 pounds return) plus taxes and fees etc.. We only stayed the day If you are bored with Manchester and the surrounding area I definately suggest the jaunt across the Irish Sea even if you only want to stay for the day. The best way to see the best parts of the city if you are only there for a limited time (such as a few hours) is to hop on one of those double decker "On and Off" tour buses. While it sounds cheesy it does get you everywhere: St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College, Phoenix Park, Edge and Bono's penthouse and of course the Guiness Brew House. Tickets arent cheap (12-15 pounds) but it gives you a whirlwind tour of the city and gets you to all the sites. If youre tired of seeing churches and cathedrals be sure to make the Guiness Brew House (self guided tour about 7 pounds admission) your number on priority. It's fun, educational and you get a free pint of Guiness at the end no matter what the hour (I had mine at 10:30am).
