Saint-Brieuc (Saint Bérieu in Gallo and Santa Brieg in Breton) is a French commune of northwestern France, prefecture of the department of Cotes-d'Armor and region of Brittany. Saint-Brieuc is one of nine historic bishoprics of Brittany, the parish was also part of a small territory, Turnagouet (between Urn and Gouët) one of the three countries make up the Diocese of St. Brieuc with Goëlo and Penthievre. The city lies along the English Channel, nestled deep in a bay on which the city gave its name: the Bay of Saint-Brieuc. It is also traversed by two rivers flowing valleys and Gouët Gouédic.

The relief of the city, with its two deep valleys, has necessitated the construction of two viaducts where motorists can easily see the sea and the port. Saint-Brieuc is one of three largest in the north coast of Brittany. During the big spring tides the sea retreats 7 km!
While our visit here, (we stay in Saint Martin beach in Plerin),almost every afternoon, we went to Saint Martin beach to pick many kind of seafood, such like mussels, oysters, crabs, clams, whelks, cockles, and many more. But beware of the tide up so fast after 6.30pm!
