In February and March 2004 I visited Ethiopia for about five weeks.
I visited Bahir Dar, Gondar, Simen Mountains, Aksum and Lalibela in the north and Lake Langano, Arba Minch and the Omo Region in the south.

Ethiopia is a fascinating country because of its unique cultural identitiy, because there was no European colonialism in the past.

Ethiopia is striking for its diversity in landscapes and peoples. Ethiopia with its rich traditions an ancient history has a lot of unique attractions like rock-hewn churches, castles and archaeological finds.

The Simien Mountains, but also lesser known areas, offer wonderful landscapes.
And you will encounter the diversity of the Ethiopian peoples.
The most people we met along the road were friendly, sometimes shy, sometimes self-confident.

Addis Ababa is a beautiful city. About 6500 feet. Always beautiful weather. Cool. Dry. Huge Church. But poor people. Love their local food. Original music.

We have lots of Ethiopians in Israel, but I've never seen any with plates in their mouths...I can't believe they agree to that.
