Stads-Hotel Boerland is situated in the pedestrian area of the old part of the citycentre of Emmen, close to the market square with lovely terraces and many old oaks.

At this pedestrian area Stads-Hotel Boerland has a cosy petit restaurant and bar known as "De Heeren van Boerland" in the most historical part of the building. In this characteristic building you can enjoy your light meals and dinner. In front of "De Heeren of Boerland" is a nice terrace in the middle of the lively shopping centre.

The entrance of the well-known Zoo of Emmen is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.
At the reception of the hotel you can get tickets for the zoo with reduction.

Stads-Hotel Boerland has 14 hotel rooms on the first floor. The rooms are equipped with a shower or bath, toilet, telephone, television, mini bar and wireless internet. By its small scale the hotel has a personal touch and informal atmosphere.

Living not far from this hotel myself , I never spent the night here, but as guests like VT-ers not sleep in my house, I book their rooms in this hotel.

Unique Qualities: The central unique location in the heart of the pedestrian area of the citycentre close to the shops, terraces, the zoo and the marketsquare with lots of festivals and activities at the front and a free parking place at the back .

Directions: By car: A37 turn off to Emmen/ Groningen. Then again Emmen (not Emmen Zuid). At the traffic lights first right, then left into the Westerstraat. Drive underneath the block of flats to the parking lot of the hotel.

Hotel De Giraf is situated just east of the railway at a walking distance of about 10 minutes from the citycentre of Emmen and the entrance of the Zoo. The hotel has 76 hotel rooms, including 3 theme rooms (Out of Africa, 1001 nights and a japanese room). There are also 3 suites and 4 familyrooms.

The hotel is connected with varied conference facilities, and halls for concerts, exhibitons, fairs and parties. There are tenniscourts, a sport and fitnesscentre and a beautysalon. At my last visit I saw even a beach with beds, parasols and a beachvolleybalfield.

The hotel has three restaurants, a French à la carte restaurant, a Spanish patio restaurant, serving world tapas and Spanish dishes and an African style Brasserie Mombasa, serving fingerfood menus, salads and plates. Unique Qualities: I know the lovely restaurants and the congressfacilities. I never spend here the night myself, but friends and colleagues told me they like the rooms. The rooms offer the usual stuff like shower/ bath, toilet, hairdryer, telephone, safe, television with radio and pay-tv. The hotel is easily reachable by car and there is a private free parkinglot.
