Morocco was the first country I visited at the African continent in 1975. I discovered another world and was excited. In 1980 Ghana was the first Subsaharan country I visited. And I fell in love with Africa for ever.

In the meantime I returned 38 times and visited 33 countries. In 2004 one of my dreams came true, the possibility to travel for 3 months in this amazing continent and to make my first transsahara crossing later in the same year.

In this overview page of Africa I will describe the highlights of the countries I visited, like UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but also those places, which touched me most.

Hey Ali, Superb page this is!! and very inspiring!! I returned to Holland, and so my focus of holidays may be once more on Africa! I know where I have to go first for some research ;-)

A fascinating collection of highlights from your many trips to Africa! Great that you went to the westbank of Luxor by bike, despite the heat. I've just read the first thirty tips today, but will be back some other time for the rest.
