Dutch TT in Assen

One of the most known sport events in Drenthe is the Dutch TT in Assen. Many people all over the world know Assen because of its annual TT-motorraces. Every last saturday of June are the world superbike races at the TT-circuit about 6 KM from Assen.

During the TT-week you see everywhere in town and in the village Witten -close to the the circuit- thousands of bikers, not only visiting the races, but also having a lot of fun. Famous is the TT-night of Assen at friday-night before the races. You can listen to many music groups, visit the fair and see and join the many people drinking lots of beer.

As kid I was fascinated, when all the bikes and cars passed my primary school in Witten, the village nearby the circuit, on their way to the races. We wrote down all the numbers of the numberplates.

Directions: The circuit is situated south-west of Assen.
In the TT-week the circuit is signposted along all the highways to Assen.
