The charming little city Valeggio sul Mincio is situated on the boundaries between two regions Lombardy and Veneto south of Lake Garda. The Mincio valley that crosses the town from north to south offers a wonderfully picturesque view. It's one of the most lovely green areas of Italy.

The town is dominated by the Scaligero Castle. Over the centuries these medieval fortifications have kept their impressive character.

In May 2005 Valeggio was the place were the first official European VT meeting was organised.

Barbara (VT-member BarbaraForza) was the one who selected this wonderful place for the meeting. Not only before, but also during the meeting she was very busy to arrange and manage all perfectly. I agree with Marcrazy1, she deserves a VT monument.

From the 6th till the 8th May about 80 VT-members from almost 30 nationalities all over the world gathered in Valeggio sul Mincio for the most memorable VT meeting ever.

I came close to seeing this-but so much around that I spent too much time in. Thanks for the wonderful pictures and comments. The village is similar to so many in the area that the Scaligeri family built in the area. It is a lovely tour spot
