Favorite Thing: Very expensive, but for a special occasion ... why not ?

What can be more romantic than having your wedding in Venice. And in that case you take of course also the most romantic mean of transport , what else ....... the gondola !

Fondest Memory: It's was wonderful to see this lovely bridal couple in the gondola at their weddingday, at the last day we were strolling around in Venice.

Campos, Calles and Canals: Canals, everywhere you look

canal in Dorsoduro

Favorite Thing: It's so wonderful to walk around in the old citycentre of Venice. Everywhere you look, you will find another lovely canal, from the huge and wide Canal Grande to the small ones.

Fondest Memory: Dorsoduro was one of my favourites areas. Everyday from or to our hotel I choosed another route to discover new parts of the city and lovely tiny canals like this.

Grand Canal/Palazzo: Lovely buildings along the canals

Canal Grande

Favorite Thing: Especially along the Canal Grande are the most beautiful buildings and palazzo's. The best thing to do for having a good look at all those palazzos is to take the vaporetto.

But I also liked to sit along the Canal Grande and have a look at the palazzos from there, including all the boats passing by.

The terrace of the Peggy Guggenheim museum in Dorsoduro from where I took this picture, is such a nice place to sit and look to the nice surroundings.

General Tips: View from Giardini/ Biennale area

Favorite Thing: In 1997 I went especially to Venice to vist the Biennale. We went by vaporetto to the exhibition area east of the Castello area.

From here the view at the lagoon and the skyline of the famous buildings of Venice like the Campanile at the Piazza San Marco, the island San Giorgio Maggiore and the Basilica S Maria della Salute is marvellous.

On our way back to San Marco we went by foot. It was such a lovely walk along the shore of the lagoon.

General Tips: So many picturesque spots

Favorite Thing: You can walk for days in Venice and enjoy all the lovely spots. Not only the canals, bridges, squares, palaces, churches are wonderful, but also the houses are nice, like this one.

I liked the colours of the wall in combination with the colours of the windows and especially the abundant flowers. Just walk around and keep your eyes open for all those picturesque spots.
