Coming from Ouarzazate going to Rissani I liked to have a stop on the way. Nkob was our choice, a village having 45 kasbashs. Two kasbahs are turned into a hotel, Kasbah Baba baba and Kasbah Inmdoukal. Our kasbah was situated in the middle of the village. After the unpaved turn-off from the mainroad, we found the kasbah well signposted in a narrow alleyway. It was possible to go there by car and park the car just in front of the kasbah.
The kasbah built of adobe and palmtrunks is very impressive. We had a room with a large balcony (picture 1) with a nice view at one of the innercourts and a part of the village. We had a warm Moroccan welcome with tea, sweets and nuts (picture 2).
Unique Qualities: The most striking part of the kasbah is the rooftop with the most fantastic views at the village, the palmtrees of the oasis and the surrounding mountains (see travelogues). Experiencing the sunset and sunrise from here it's like a fairytale. There are long chairs and parasols.
In on of the two innercourts is a small swimming pool (picture 4). There is airco in the hotelrooms. We visited Nkob in winter, so we used the heating in the evening. We had our breakfast outside in one of the innercourts in the morning sun and our dinner indoors close to the open fire.
