"Santo Antao" Ilha de Santo Antão by sachara
Ilha de Santo Antão Travel Guide: 29 reviews and 40 photos
Santo Antao is a island with a very beautifull scenery:
mountains,
green valleys with sugarcane & banana-trees,
small fishing-villages.
It's a good place for short and long walks in the mountains or along the coast.
From the port Porto Novo in the south the road brings you to the north high through the mountains with beautifull sights deep down at the many green ribeiras (valleys).
On the nothern coast of Santo Antão is Ribeira Grande , the capital of the island.
Ribeira Grande is situated at the mouth of two valleys, the Ribeira Grande and the Ribeira de Torre.
Ribeira Grande and Ponta do Sol are good places to stay for walks on the northern part of Santo Antão.

Ilha de Santo Antão looks a heaven for hikers. The landscape looks very rough and mountainous but the villages so quiet !
A nice and interesting page with great tips.A wonderful off the beaten path place!

Stunning scenery brought to life with some amazing photos.
Outstanding page Alije, wish to go there too one day ;-D
What an interesting place - should do some hiking there, thats after I've done my Walk Through Europe first.
This is a very interesting page with great photos of your sights and experiences! I love islands, especially off-the-beaten-path ones like this!!
this looks pretty much like brasil.. i love all your pages!! Thanks! meggy
It's inceadible but this island really looks like Madeira 20 or 30 years ago. Madeira was very poor back then. The typicall houses are charming. Great page!!!
