"Sindou, Senoufou Country" Sindou by sachara

Sindou Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 8 photos

Sindou, 85 km southwest of Banfora, is the capital of the Senoufou country. Sindou, meaning 'fantastic rock formations' is in Burkina Faso well known because of the Sindou Peaks, a spectular landscape of rocks.

Some people visit the Sindou Peaks and the area from Banfora. We stay two nights in a campement in Sindou itself, so we had two days to visit not only the peaks, but also the escarpment of Niansogoni with Dogon like granaries at the cliffs. We visited also several Senoufou villages like Tourni and Kawara with a local guide, who knows the villagers.

Ali you did great - you made it upto the Granaries - a one hour hike on a hard ascent and dirty track at 34°C !!!

If there were not those interestin dwellings at top like in hte Dogon, I should have stopped half way and enjoyed the view in the shade.
