Kadisha Valley The Kadisha Valley starts in the west near Batroun at the coast and is nearly 50 KM long. The drive from the coast to Bcharre, the maintown of the Kadisha Valley goes along winding roads through the most wonderful mountain landscape of Lebanon with splendid views at peaks and gorges. The most scenic part of the Kadisha Valley or the Holy Valley of the Maronite Christiansis is the higher last 20 KM section.
Bcharre Bcharre at the uppper end of the valley, is dramatically situated at the northern edge of the gorge. We stayed a few days in Bcharre and from there we explored the Kadisha Valley deep down with its waterfalls, monasteries, tombs and spectacular natural scenery. From Bcharre it was also easy to vist the Cedars, the house of Kahlil Gibran and some villages surrounding the valley. |
