| Australian desert from 42,000 ft. |
Went to Perth for three weeks on business Glad overseas trips on business are on business class. That 15 1/2 hour flight from LAX to Sydney is a killer! Then it's still 5 1/2 hours to Perth. The first picture is from about 42,000 feet, and it shows old riverbeds that have silted over, possibly leaving evaporites behind. |
| Folded sedimentary layers seen from the airplane |
Desert geology As a geoscientist, I find airplane geology to be fascinating. These intricately folded sedimentary layers would make a great geologic map. |
Perth skyline Here's the Perth skyline at night, taken from a seafood restaurant on the other side of the river from downtown. |
