This quiet little island can be accessed by a 5-10 minute ferry trip from Victoria Point. There is a small self-sufficient community of people who certainly have a relaxed life style. They can also claim that they live on a tropical island, which is pretty much the case.

St. Lucia, Brisbane Being the first University in Queensland, you can admire some of the old buildings with beautiful, multicoloured sandstone walls. A great place for students to relax are around a couple of lakes, with beautiful purple jacaranda trees located next to them. There is even a forest area created for research. The Great Court is the central part of the University, that is totally surrounded by sandstone building or walkways. This court area is a popular destination for lunch time breaks. If you want to get away from the centre of it all there are also many other parks located around the University.
