"Exploring a beautiful coast" Algarve by hundertmorgen

Away from the popular tourist spots much of the Algarve remains totally unspoilt.
The interior from the coast greatly varies in its picturesque appeal due to its variety of fauna, soil and contours.
In January and February the coast is painted white with almond blossom shading the many varieties of wild orchids. In March, the heady perfume of orange blossom mixes with the bloom of acacias. During the month of April the bountiful wild flowers give cause to the delightful music of the many colourful birds. May and June is the time to see the raw beauty of the striking bare barks of stripped cork trees in contrast to the palette purple of the jacaranda. July is the time of cherries, strawberries and melons. August and September provide the picking of grapes, figs and almonds. November is for the gathering of chestnuts for the national festival of São Martinho. Whilst, in December it is time to start picking the famous sweet juicy Algarve oranges which continue through to March.
There are about 100 sandy attractive beaches washed by the Atlantic Ocean and due to the maritime shelf and water currents the sea temperature can be surprisingly warm even in some winter months.
The Algarve has so much to offer yet much remains hidden from those who decide to stay in their hotel area. The sheer variety of the landscapes, the historical treasures and the unique flora and fauna.

Algarve was, and is, beautiful and reminds me of northern California, even the seafood brought back shades of memories from California and Hawaii with the Portugese flavor added for good measure.
I'm very attracted by Algar Seco. I'm going to Algarve next week. Ciao!
I have to disagree with this comment about the Fortaleza restaurant. Its a beautiful restaurant! The reason you were probably guided to the "other room" was no doubt because most people request that room as the views are SPECTACULAR!
It seems you explorer this place nicely, maybe I should visit here one day.
Portugese landscape are the most unusual in the whole Europe it seems. Nice views on the pics.
Running through your pages now .. Carvoeiro is GORGEOUS :-))) Will take a slow walk by later ;-))
