Rügen - KdF Bad Prora
The megalithic pre-war ruin The so-called Colossus of Prora, a 4.5 km long building complex was built by the Nazis as a "fit for fun" (Kraft durch Freude) seaside resort for the nation. 10,000 rooms with twin beds and a sea view were to provide accommodation for the holidaymakers. Today, it largely lies abandoned and in ruins, but houses several fascinating museums and exhibitions in some blocks. The western part of the colossal complex was partially detonated. The Prora Museum displays photos and lot of informations about the building.
