Fantastic KalaNera

We went to Kala Nera just before High Season...we enjoyed it.

Only local people from Volos, Makrinitsa and other Villages in Pilion visit this perfect "beach village".
Ofcourse there were some English, Dutch and German tourist. Most of them come to walk in this low season.

We drove about 1.200km through Pilion and after all we think this is the BEST place stay to start all your day trips.
There are some 2 supermarkerts, 2 bakery's and about 15 tavernas.

The beach is not the most wonderfull in Pilio area we have to admit, but water is clean and when you come from the long beach there is some choice to eat and drink.

Sunday is the day

Kala Nera

Sunday in Kala Nera is different from other days. (in low season for sure)

Every body is well dressed, nobody walks in bikini along the "boulevard". About 11.00 o'clock you'll find some men drinking tsipurou. 14.00 everybody is going to the tavernas to order a lot of fish and other things like spanakopita, tiera krokettes etc.

Beautifull to sit there and watch all those people. Childeren walking around and everybody talks loud and clear.

17.00 every body is gone for a siesta in their village up in the mountain or Volos.

hmmmmm want to go back

In the first chapter we told you...we love Kala Nera.
That's why we go again...hmmm

So maybe we meet in Kala Nera in the end of August.

Nice start - that restaurant tip sounds wonderful!!!!!!!! I have the best of memories about Pilio myself!
