Cairo, always awake!

by vdoortje - last update: Feb 28, 2005

Home is where your loved ones are!

CAIRO
What is there to say about Cairo?? It is a city that never bores! That is always alive and waiting to entertain people for 24 hours a day! If you are willing to listen behind the screaming traffic noise..., if you are willing to look behind the pressing salesmen and discover the beautiful smiles and hospitality of the Egyptian people... you will have discovered a great place to be!

Of course you should see the high lights of Cairo: the Pyramids, Memphis, Sakkarah, the Citadel, the Khan el Khalili, the Egyptian Museum!!! You sure shouldn't miss them!!!
But look beyond all that!!! Try to make contact with the people living there!! It isn't hard!! They are reaching out! They are so willing to meet you!!
And you will find a whole different world! A loving and welcoming world! A community of people proud of their background and willing to welcome any other person that will recognize them!!

Meeting those people will make you feel part of their culture and enlighten your excistance! It will make you feel part of the world!
Mohamed Ali Mosque

Beautiful Memories

Mohamed Ali Mosque, high upon The Citadel in Cairo, will always have a special place in my heart. Not just because of this beautiful picture of me and my hubby in front of it. But because within the walls of this mosque a real special friendship came into excistance. A friendship that will tie me to Egypt for the rest of my life.
