Novorossiysk, the largest trading port in the south of Russia, has been based in 1838.
City is situated in Tsemesskaya bay. The bay is one of the most convenient on Black sea and not freezing during the winter period. The bay spreads for 15 kms , it’s very deep so the bay allows any ocean vessel to come. The bay divides city on east (industrial area) and western parts. In northwest and a southwest the city is surrounded with mountains.
The suburbs of Novorossiysk is surrounded by many beautiful places: Abrau-Durso (the native land of the well-known Russian champagne); the Wide Beam and Ugnaya Ozereika (here are situated campsites and sanatoriums)
In summer period people from the northern regions of Russia come here to have a rest, sunbathe, dive and bathe.

a summer in novorossiisk is certainly not as terrible as a winter in khabarovsk

Ah...the black sea...just loved it! I saw it for the first time in 2001 and i'll never forget it!thank you for the new tips. nice ships and very nice photos in novorossiysk dangers. spacebo joao
