Bouchout castle

Before we start " Welcome ".
Let me remind you that my normal tongue is Dutch and at the time i was going to school we must learn French as second language.
So please, If i do or write something wrong, forgive me

In the beginning of the 12th century, the troops of the Duke of Brabant came face tot face with the troops of Meise, the 'Milites de Menza'. Both strongholds became water castles surrounded with a park. Meise Castle burnt down totally during the Second World War. Bouchout Castle has been altered many times; only the square tower, the eldest part of the castle, dates of the 14th century. The Empress Charlotte, the sister of King Leopold II, and widow of the executed Emperor of Mexico, lived here almost her entire life. The present architecture dates from 1830, the interior from 1980. Nowadays Bouchout Castle is used for meetings, lectures and exhibitions

Planten paleis van regenwoud tot Afrika

The Plant Palace houses the tender and tropical living collections of the Garden. Thirteen large greenhouses surround twenty-two small collection houses in a complex of 1 ha. The Plant Palace is built in 1958 and opened in 1965. The tallness varies between 8 and 16 m.
The Plant Palace is undergoing major renovations. During this project the complex will remain open to the public, some houses will be temporarily closed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
