Tamborine is called a part of the gold coast, but it is way different to what people think.
tamborine mountains is covered in national parks, full of heps of plants and animals.
some of the animals you will find here are:
Brush Turkey*
Albert Lyrebird
Possums
Bandicoots,
Wallabies,
Koalas
Lots of different frogs incl. Green Tree Frogs
and heaps more....
There are heaps of great bush and rainforest walks, and if you go really early your sure to see plenty of these animals
wineries
Tamborine mountain also has a great range of wineries.
we take people to these on one of our tours.
most of these wineries have tasting options, for quite cheap :)
The Brush turkey... also known as a bush turkey doesnt just live here, people in the suburbs find them qite a nusiance in their backyards as they build huge nests on the ground about 2 metres wide... these nests look like a great big pile of leaves and sticks, but they are really important to this bird :)
the male bird makes the nest and the female bird goes around and tests the nests to find which one is the right temperature for inkubating the eggs... and whatever lucky male made it the best temp, the female will mate with him.
the eggs get laid in here, and do the inkubating then when the chicks hatch they are totally self suficient and able to live without the help of their parents :).
kind of an ugly creature, but i think they are interesting.
and very friendly. if your having a picnic dont be suprised if they come up to say hi.
- Pros:great scenery

Interesting bit about the bird habits. None of our ground nesting birds that come to our suburbs build such huge nests. Owls and eagles and osprey all build huge nests, but far off the ground.
Poor brush/bush turkey. He builds a nest that is two meters wide and the lady goes for another nest with best air conditioning? i like your writing.
