At one stage we intended on immigrating to Canada and that was the main reason for going to Vancouver. We changed our mind for other reasons but I am so glad that we had the opportunity to go. Vancouver is a fantastic city with everything. A great city, good beaches, skiing, mountains, lots of parks and beautiful scenery. It truly is a city with everything. The people are extremely friendly and there are a wide range of nationalities making it very cosmopolitan. British Columbia is beautiful and the countryside is fantastic. I would love to go back to explore the northern part more. We spent about a week in Vancouver and at the last minute decided to drive to Banff and Jasper. We also had a few days in Whistler. We probably went at the worst time of year – November, but it was lovely, it was cold but we had blue skies and minimal rain. Coming from the southern hemisphere it is nice to see so much snow. We also got in contact with a cousin of my husbands who lives near Vancouver so it was nice to meet her and her family. Co-incidentally her newborn daughter has the same name as our daughter!

I would go back in a heartbeat and if I won the lottery I would buy myself a log cabin in Whistler and spend Christmases there. I can’t think of a better place.
