Eastbourne is your typical English seaside town, pier and all. We did not actually stop in town (well mainly because there was just no parking) but carried on to Beachy Head. Beachy Head is a well known place where people commit suicide by throwing themselves over the cliff's edge. It was very sad to see flowers placed at various points along the way with messages like '...I hope you have found peace'.
Beachy Head is absolutely beautiful and we were lucky to have sunshine as well. It can be pretty windy right at the top but as you walk down it is more sheltered. The walk along the cliffs is spectacular and the views amazing. Just hold onto your kids! I am petrified of heights and held on to my daughter like the paranoid mother that I am.
There is a restaurant and bar near the car park as well as a small play area for kids. |
