Portofino is known for being Italy's most picturesque and romantic village. Portofino seems to be frozen in time with its pastel fisherman houses lining the winding streets. Portofino has long been known for its appeal to the rich and famous of the world - most of the surrounding wooded hillsides are owned by wealthy Genoans and Milanese. Prior to World War II, access was only possible by boat and the community liked it that way. |
