A trip to the top of Table mountain is an excellent way to get your bearings and see some fantastic views of Cape Town and the surrounding bays and beaches. Make sure you go on a clear day. When the 'table cloth' (clouds) is on you will not be able to see anything. It is best to go early morning when it is usually clear (the clouds come over in the afternoon).
The cable cars are big and have a rotating floor so you get a 360 degree view no matter which side you stand. The cable cars are also stopped if the wind is too strong so if it is a bit windy it best to call ahead and check. The cable way has been running for 71 years and is extremely proud to have a 100% safety record.
There is a restaurant and snack bar at the top. Remember it can be quite cool up there so take a jersey just in case
It is very peaceful up there !!
Rates – adults R110, children R60. There is sometimes a sunset special where it is half price after 7pm.
Free guided walks pointing out areas of interest depart at 10 and 12 from the Upper Cable Station
