In our opinion Ambergris is awful. It is crowded, busy, noisy, too much traffic and a world away from the laid back peacefulness of Caye Caulker. After wandering around town we walked along the beach to Ramons Village. Ambergris is only nice if you stay in a large resort away from San Pedro but then you may as well be anywhere in the world. We only stayed on the island for 2 hours (it is also expensive for food and drinks) and came back to our wonderful little island. I just wonder how long it will be before Caye Caulker is ruined the way Ambergris has been. |
