Like all my pages, I hope to complete this page very soon.
Situated on the St. Lawrence, a two hour drive from Montréal, Québec City is considered the historical jewel of the province. There are about 600,000 people living in the general vicinity of this city. The city can recieve large snowfalls in the winter and switch to hot and humid conditions in the summer.
Québec City is very historic and has preserved many of its old buildings and character. Tour the UNESCO world heritage site inside the city walls which are a series of steep, narrow, twisting streets and old stone building topped with colorful, sloping roofs. It is a walled city but more recently built as opposed to some in Europe. (i.e. the Romans and Chester England)
Quebec City is the closest thing your going to see that resembles France or Europe in North America. I loved my visit and hope to go back again. This time in the summer. Winter is not the best time to go because of some limited services and access but sometimes its best to see a place in more than one setting to get a true feel of the life there. Like my present city of Winnipeg, Québecers have also lost their NHL hockey team due to the sale of the team and the better profits to be made south of the border.
Also I just want to add that my Canada includes Quebec! Need a web address? www.quebecregion.com</B><a href="http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/71714.html">
