<B>I moved here in July '98. It's a large, flat, spread out, windy, prairie city. There are about 670,000 people living in the general vicinity. It's cold and usually sunny in the winter. Summer brings warm temperatures and the dreaded mosquitoes. Needless to say I will not retire here. But if you would like to visit Winnipeg, maybe we can work something out for accomodations. That is if you live in a place that I want to visit. Preferably some place warm with a beach.

Winnipeg has old and historic roots which played a large part in how the west of Canada developed. The hub of Winnipeg was the Forks and will be again someday. The Forks is downtown where the Assiniboine and Red Rivers meet. There, at the Forks, is a large market, theatre and park where you can exercise or just put your feet up. Not far from that is the ballpark where the Winnipeg Goldeyes play. A baseball team named after fish. Nearby you will find the old Exchange district which, if things go to plan, soon should have more people living there along side schools and businesses in an agreeable zoning situation.

Winnipeg's contribution to popular music includes rockers Neil Young, Burton Cummings (Guess Who), Randy Bachman (BTO), the Crash Test Dummies, the Watchmen, Chantal Kreviazuk and most recently popsters McMaster and James.
