I love flying but my hubbie doesn't!!!

Us (and a rare appearance of my glasses!)
Hi everybody,

I joined this site back in 2004 so we could plan our honeymoon in NYC, Cape Cod & Boston. Thanks to all the wonderful suggestions from VT members, we had the trip of a lifetime.

Now that we're happily married with no kids, we like to travel as often as we can. My husband hates flying so we're mainly confined to European trips, although you can see that our main love is La Belle France - 6 times in 6 years!!!
Our wedding on 1st Oct 2004

What a honeymoon...

We flew with Aer Lingus from Dublin to JFK (a very nice cabin crew gave us free champagne to celebrate) & took a limo to our hotel - the Marriott Marquis right on Times Square. We spent 4 great nights in New York and managed to cram an awful lot into our short visit including a very romantic twilight Circle Line cruise, the Liberty Helicopters tour of the city, a wonderful meal at Les Halles, a great walking guided tour of Manhattan thanks to Big Apple Greeters and the super-gentlemanly Bob Schiff.

Then it was off to Boston travelling First Class on the Acela Express. Once we got there, it was straight onto the coach to Hyannis where we were met by our friends Eileen & Shawn who drove from NH (they couldn't come home for the wedding). The weather wasn't great, but we didn't care. We stayed at the Hyannis Harbor Inn for a week and explored Cape Cod in our rental car, and our highlight was the firework display on Columbus Day viewed from our terrace sipping champagne

The week was over all too soon and we headed back to Boston to spend 3 (rainy) days staying at the Millennium Bostonian. Great location & fab staff. We especially loved the Science Museum and the Duck Tour (quack quack) in the pouring rain!!!

Aoife, I hope your wedding & honeymoon were a success. The northeastern US has a lot of beautiful scenery and interesting cities to offer. Perhaps you'll be adding those pages soon? Have a fabulous 33rd birthday! -Cheers
