Istanbul - the city of two continents

by babar_1 - last update: Dec 29, 2003

Istanbul (on postcard)
I stayed in Istanbul for only two days (on transit from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan)....... and it is indeed very very short time to visit even one corner of this magnificent city.

Istanbul is the only city in the world built on two continents. It stands on both shores of Bosphorous, where the waters of the black sea mingle with those of the sea of Marmara.
Istanbul has endless variety: museums, ancient churches, great mosques, bazaars and the Bosphorous.
