  • THis beautiful staircase isn't really easy to find. It's hidden in the backcourt of a house. But it's worth seeking and asking people for it!
It costs a small amount to climb up, but it isn't expensive and you'll have a very special view over the roofs of Venice.

  • This is one of the small islands in the lagoon of Venice. You can reach it by ferry easily leaving from San Marco-station.
Burano is a very nice place. The houses are small and in different colours what makes the atmosphere very special. You feel like being in Disneyland...
Burano is famous for it's handycrafts (esp. laces). You'll find many little shops around the islands where women are sitting and doing their crafts.

  • Murano is the biggest island around Venice. It's famous for glass-arts that are sold all over the world.
You can buy the beautiful glass-things in every shop on the island. But be careful: some of them can be really expensive!!
If you just want to have a little souvenir, visit one of the glass-workshops. You can watch the glassblowers creating wonderful things out of fluid, hot glass. Afterwards you've got the possibility to buy some things cheaper than in the shops. Little glass figures are perfest gifts for your beloved at home. You can buy them for 2-3$ already!

Wow, great page on a fantastic city!! What a pity that The Campanile was closed for maintenance when we were there...we'll have to go to the top next time. :)
