Arrival

We drove from Southern California, through Arizona, to New Mexico. I have to admit the drive was a killer but it was worth it. We only stayed in Santa Fe for three nights and I was reluctant to leave. Got to go back someday.
The architecture is beautiful and different to most other stuff I've seen in the US.

Food

I have travelled so much in my life and I have to say that some of the best tasting food I've ever had was in New Mexico. Their style is not Tex-Mex or the Mex style you get in LA. The spices and chiles they use cover such a wide range of tastes, it's amazing. The regular American food is so-so (unless your in Santa Fe or Las Cruces) and the food in the SE of the state was just plain poor.
