Hi there, welcome to my homepage. Let me introduce myself.I am fortunate be employed in a profession that allows my partner and I to travel the world in relative comfort. It has not always been this way for me financially but I have always moved around. I was born in England and moved to the U.S. in my early twenties. |
| | New York = #1 city in USA I lived and travelled up and down the East Coast and was based in New York, Miami, Kentucky, South Carolina and New Jersey. New York is my favorite city in the United States to date, especially now it has cleaned up from the hell hole it was in the 1980s to the place it is now. Oregon beaches are the prettiest I have seen in the US for non-beach crowd. |
Best of the USA to date My sweetie and I try to do a couple of vacations a year. So far we like New England in the fall the best. I also recommend the American SouthWest and California north of Los Angeles county. In 2003 we went to France and it is now my personal favorite place- all of it!!
| Japanes Garden, Huntington Library |
| | Claremont, Califonia. I am lucky to live in Claremont, just about the best "small" town in the area, but can't wait to retire and move out of So Cal - too many people, too many cars, too much consumerism. I will try to pick out the local gems in the area and hope you visit them rather than following the crowds to the usual spots. |
Hobbies I love running in races and hope to run all 50 states eventually. Only 44 left to go! I love nature and photgraphy and try to find spots to see and learn about the wildlife. I take photos of everything now I've gone digital. I also love history and try to find out the story behind the place before I go somewhereas it enriches the experience immensely.
| | Better Living Through Travel Finally, I wish you peace. I consider myself a progressive thinker and also a citizen of the world. I believe borders can be barriers to understanding and that governments do not reflect the views of all their people. I have travelled enough to know people are basically good, honest, and love to showcase the places where they live. |
New World Order In this new world that has been thrust upon us, wanted or not, I believe that now is the time to be brave and travel so that we better understand each other. This is not the time to hide away or boycott whole nations who disagree with our governments. So open that atlas, pick out your spot and buy that ticket. Happy Trails, Isi.
