Oh dear me, has it been a long time ago since I last was here. Well, what can I say, time moves on, things keep on happening (thank God for that, oh would life be dull if nothing ever happened). So I haven't had the focus on traveling the last few years. I have been out of my tiny little country a few times, ok, but those were more beach-holidays by a family-man. In my mind however the focus always stayed on crossing the world. And many nice travel ideas emerged from up above. Some of them I really can't let go. Here is the reason why I blow some new life into this site, remove the dust and let the new ideas out. Maybe I'll find a companion.

First, here's a couple of "regular" trips. By "regular" I mean they can be arranged by many tour operator. Nothing wrong with that tho. To sum up: 10 destinations I would love to see (in no particular order):

Argentina - Bolivia - Chile
Iceland
South Africa
New Zealand
India
Turkey - Jordan - Egypt
Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia
Japan
Mongolia
Morocco

Apart from the above, there are at the moment 2 trips that keep taking my thoughts away every now and then. You can tell from them that I like to travel in circles.... The first one is the idea of moving around the Baltic Sea, ie. from Holland, through Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark back to Holland. Not that crazy, I think. I gotta find some time to go...

The more crazy of my trips is the one that brought me back to VT. Cause I really want to explore the possibilities and difficulties of that trip. Ready? Here it comes:

Starting officially in Venice (tho I got some nice ideas of going from Holland to Venice as well).
Moving along the cities (I will name the most important ones):

Istanbul, Turkey
Ankara, Turkey
Tabriz, Iran
Isfahan, Iran (a lil off route but i think it's worth it)
Teheran, Iran
Mashad, Iran
Asjgabat, Turkmenistan
Mary, Turkmenistan
Buchara, Uzbekistan
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Osj, Kyrgyzistan
Bisjkek, Kyrgyzistan
Kashi, China
Turpan, China
Lanzhou, China
Xi'an, China
Beijing, China

and from there traveling back to Moscow by the transmongolia express. Then from Moscow back home. This whole trip without using a single plain. So far for the dreams, no it is time to live them out.
