"I was just seventeen" Bulgaria by Beograd

When I went to Bulgarian seaside I was 17 and went there with my parents. We have friends in Sofia and they booked us a room in a house with some very pleasant elderly couple. I remember that lady's name was Zlatka, but really can't recall the old gent's name. Eventhough they had many guests at the time, me and my family had a special treatment. We were invited to use all the "crops" from their garden, to use their lavatory, their kitchen... Basicly, they treated us as their guests and not as paying guests. We apreciated it very much.
Back then, Bulgaria wasn't very popular for tourists from my country, nor any other for that matter. The people you see there were mainly Bulgarians, and those welthier. We stayed in Carevo and our friends stayed in a village that is just some 10-15 km's further, so we had really good company.
Those family friends have a doughter that is just a year younger than me, so being 17 and going to a vacation with Mom and Dad wasn't a drag. In fact it was rather interesting. I remember being shocked only once. It was the first and the last time when I saw cigarettes being sold on piece. So when you wanted to by fags, you could by a whole pack or just one! Imagine this!
