Getting TO/AROUND: Most travellers reach Plett by car, travelling from either Cape Town or Port Elizabeth. Car hire is simple and one can drop off a vehicle in the next major centre/airport. There is also the BazzBus which although I have not used, it appears to be quite reliable and reaches out of the way destinations. Until recently, there was an airport in Plett which had direct flights to and from JHB International daily. These flights have been suspended for the moment:( However, specials into George and PE from other areas are really good. George (which is 1 1/2 easy drive from Plett) or Port Elizabeth (2 1/4 easy drive) Do remember that if you are used to the distances in Europe/UK, you will find the distances in SA alot longer! Travelling at about 120 - 130km per hour, it will still take you about 5 - 6 hours to get to Plett from CT. For those of you who do not have to worry about costs, there is an "African Ramble" plane which flies up and down the coast. The pictures you see on the page are all taken from the Ramble.
A warning in terms of getting here...there are traffic cameras between Plett and George that can be a real pain! Just look out for the skid marks on the roads and you shall be safe in terms of the flashing cameras!
Between Plett and Knysna there is also a very conscientious official with a hidden radar...so 80km/ hr is 80km/hr. Upon consideration, this ought to fall under warnings!
For travellers generally, do look at www.kulula.com - there are some great deals which can be booked online.
