On my second weekend in Peru, I visited the Market in Pisac. It's not the best market in Peru, but it's definitly a very nice one!

Although there are very nice souvenirs to buy on the market, it's a lot cheaper to buy them directly in Cusco...

We made a nice little trekking-tour to Maras and took from there a taki to the ruins of Moray. Moray is a agriculture constrution of the Incas.
As there aren't too many tourist, you can take your time, enjoy the lovely surrounding and relax. :-D

If you have time, go on hiking to the Salineras.

Directions: Take a bus to Urubamba and let the drive know that you'd like to go to Maras.

Are you interested to know, who they gain salt?
Then visit the Salineras. Don't make the same mistake as we did and go on a Sunday. People don't work on Sunday ;o)

Directions: If you visited Moray, go on hiking and ask some locals for direction.
Otherwise take the bus to Urubamba and hike up the hill.

Just hanging around in Cusco, walking form there to here and form here to there is nice activity! :-D
There are lots of small shops or churches around, so you might see some very nice places not mentioned in your guide!

All around the Plaza you find lots of bars and tea-rooms. Of course the view is amazing and it's interesting to "spy" on the going-on at the Plaza, however prices are rather high.

Every organised trip to the Valle Sagrado makes a stop at the ruins of Ollantaytambo. (18 Soles excluding lunch)

If you are interested in other cultures and the Incas, it's definitly a wonderful day-trip.

This Inca ruins are less know then others what doesn't mean that they are less worth a visit...

I visited Raqchi with my Spanish-Class and enjoy this half-day trip very much. A local guide explain us helpfully background information and answerd all kind of questions about this or other ruins around Cusco.

I heard about a bus going down to Puno, which stoppes on the way at certain ruins.... Ask right at the busstation to get further information about that!
