Festival Plaza Hotel: ...   Check Rates

  • Oh yeah, since this was a very organized trip, we hadn't booked a hotel room, so we just had to worry about it when we got there. But luckily for us, the cab driver knew exactly which hotel to take us to. Hmmm, I wonder. Oh well, what could we do with no research done and absolutely no knowledge about the place. So we booked a single room with two beds at the Festival Plaza Hotel for $90/night. Y. and I were to share one bed while Z.Z. got the other.

Unique Qualities: Kinda has a cirque du soleil theme to it. Quite festive. Hence the name, Festival Plaza Hotel.

  • Here's a full frontal of the hotel. Not sure what population they're trying to attract; Disneyland going type families or college aged party goers. You decide. Nevertheless, the hotel is nicely situated on the main boulevard and is centrally located to all the happening spots in town.

Festival Plaza Hotel: A Room w/a View   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:

  • I must say though, even with all my complaining, sarcasm, and joking around, I did like the room we got, especially for the views it offered. We stayed on the fifth floor and were able to see a lot; the Pacific Ocean and surrounding areas.

    Mac's House: A Friend's Place
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Luckily for me, I now have a friend who's parents own a home in Rosarito, which makes it much more convenient to party over there these days. Woohoo! Thanks Mac, and thanks Arvie for introduc'n. You two dudes rock!

The only problem though is that many of the streets in Rosarito aren't paved, especially in the outlying areas away from the beach, which result in total yuckiness in the rain. The first time we actually stayed at Mac's pad, it had been pouring and so you could only imagine how muddy it must've been (or just take a look at the photo). Consequently, Mac had to construct a makeshift walkway from his SUV to his front door to reduce the amount of mud we dragged in. Regardless, all ten of us guests left his tiled floors a total mess for his poor parents to mop up the following day. So sorry Sr. y Sra., but it was all Mac's fault! =)

Do not go to Club Iggy's.......they are corrupt. We were recruited in based on 2-for-1 beers, drank ALL DAY, then the guy denied he ever said that and ripped us off. They are corrupt liars......DO NOT GO THERE.....be FOREWARNED!

Came back to read on about my old stomping ground. Is the old pink hotel right on the water still there? It was called Rosarito Beach Hotel and the only hotel in town. Adjoining rooms for $20 a night.
